The Beginning of Mums In Need:
This February, on Valentines day, we at Mums In Need (MIN) celebrate more than just chocolates and cards.
We mark six years since our official registration as a charity in 2018, marking a pivotal moment in our journey to empower mothers facing post-separation abuse. But our story, just like love, runs deeper than a single date.
It all began in 2013, when our founder and CEO, Laura, faced the harsh realities of this often-hidden struggle. Fuelled by her own experience and unwavering compassion, she planted the seed of MIN, determined to support women navigating similar challenges.
The start of MIN's success:
Then came 2018, a year etched as a turning point. Registering as a charity wasn't just a formality; it was a springboard to growth and transformation. From a beacon of hope for a few, MIN blossomed into a multifaceted support system, empowering over 300 women to reclaim their lives.
More than just numbers, it's about stories of resilience.
Our comprehensive wrap-around services paint a vibrant picture of this commitment. Each mum receives support which is tailored to their needs and can include:
Dedicated support from a 1:1 Caseworker: A constant guide and anchor on their journey.
Confidential Counselling sessions: A safe space to heal and process emotional trauma.
Legal guidance: Navigating the complexities of the family justice system with confidence.
Financial workshops: Gaining control of finances and building a secure future.
Wellbeing sessions: Nurturing emotional and mental well-being through various activities.
Family-focused programs: Ensuring the healing extends to children as well.
We want our impact to go beyond individual lives.
We dream of a world where all mothers facing post-separation abuse are seen, heard, and supported. That's why we're actively raising awareness six years down, with countless milestones ahead.
None of this would be possible without you, our incredible supporters. Your donations, volunteer hours, and shared stories fuel our mission.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
Together, let's keep writing chapters of hope, empowerment, and happy endings for mums and their families.
