Dan Walker Gives MIN £1000

Sheffield-based Domestic Abuse Charity Mums In Need

Receives £1000 from TV Presenter Dan Walker

Sheffield-based charity Mums In Need have been chosen as the most recent recipients of The Sheffield 1000 Charity’s £1000 donation.

Local TV presenter Dan Walker, who is the Patron and co-founder of The Sheffield 1000 Charity, presented the cheque to the CEO of Mums In Need, Laura Riley, at their Shepcote Lane office today.

Laura commented “Mums In Need is a small local charity that relies heavily on donations and fundraising, and we are thrilled to be nominated and chosen by The Sheffield 1000 Charity to receive £1000. The funds will enable us to provide six months of counselling sessions for two of our Mins who really need it. We are truly grateful for the support and the donation we’ve received.”

Mums In Need, whose slogan is confronting coercive control, helps local mums rebuild their lives after escaping emotionally abusive relationships with the other parent of their children. The charity has supported over 300 mums and their children from Sheffield and the surrounding area since 2018.
