Annie's Pet Sitting BIG Adventure - Pet Sit #3

⭐ Please DONATE⭐

Pet Sit #3 was indeed all about the Power of 3 - 🐢 Mini Bean, 🐢 Midi Bean and 🐢 Big Bean (special names chosen for special dogs for the purposes of this post).

These three characters kept me company (and I them) for three days and they get on so well together.

Big Bean is a short-haired German pointer. I've tended to hang out with sight hounds in general up until now who, as the name suggests, are all about what's happening on the horizon/up the tree (squirrel)/under the car (cat) etc. So, it was a wee adjustment for me to be following scents (dog leads, me attached!) under hedges. However, I soon got the general idea and practiced my counter balancing skills (not to be pulled over) and diversion tactics if, whatever was in the hedge, proved to be irresistible. Big Bean is the calmest of dogs, but surprisingly strong when on a scent mission.

Big Bean also did a sit-in. I knew that brekkie was at 8am. But I hadn't appreciated that that came before ANYTHING ELSE. So, I opened the door to let them into the garden first thing. Mini and Midi Beans whizzed out; Big Bean stayed put, sitting down and making it abundantly clear that this was NOT the USUAL ROUTINE. A simple sit down protest clearly helped her make her 'I'm a Pointer' on-point point - breakfast first, please. πŸ₯£

Big Bean also impressed me with a 🎡 tuneful rendition of her own making - she stood wagging her tail against a collection of big paint pots πŸ• - managing to make several different notes, depending on the size of the pot she hit!

Mini and Midi Beans are the dachshunds - mini and normal (??) sized. For those that haven't spent time with these smaller canines, the stand out factor is their big personalities - they are genuinely hilarious in their antics. Midi Bean was permanently jealous in a good-humoured way of any fuss Mini or Big Beans were on the receiving end of and, in the most comical of ways, literally put herself front and centre of the attention epicentre, ensuring she nabbed the best spot!

The Beans en masse impressed me with their Softest Ears Competition. All managed to win πŸ† 1st prize in their respective categories. So, Mini Bean stormed through with the Most Velvety, Midi Bean was proud to take home the cup for Smoothest Ears, and Big Bean was the hands down winner for the Silkiest Ears in 2023. All in all, a great event with lots of camaraderie and three top winners!

I'm doing 24 petsits by the end of 2024 to raise Β£2024. I'm also looking for BUSINESS PARTNERS to hop on board too. This is a wholly unique opportunity (seriously, have you ever heard of a 🐈 πŸ¦† 🐟 pet sitting adventure fundraising for charity?!).
