Pet Sit 13

These two doggy pals 🐕 🐕 , Cooper and Parker, are the best of friends, full of amusing interactions and endlessly entertaining 🤣 .

Walks are a popular past time (both are fit chaps, including Cooper who’s celebrating a decade in human years). However, ‘walk’ is a slight misnomer, when sniffing is definitely the #1 past time.  These two prefer not to co-ordinate their sniffing activities and have their own tactics to ensure that they hone in on the juiciest sniffs en route.

Cooper’s technique is to lean in on his sniff, using his whole-body weight. Eventually, he’ll just lie down in situ if he’s not finished and, well it’s tough, the rest of the world will have to wait! Parker’s adopted a different tactic – he strolls on ahead (as far as his lead will allow), then catches an interesting whiff and retraces his footsteps.

These antics do produce an interesting ‘maypole effect’ as they wind their leads back and forth with me as the maypole! Untangling them is a high-risk exercise as there’s a dog at the end of each lead who I need to keep safe and sound.

Parker loves the anticipation of going out in the back garden 🌼 . He bounces up and down, doing a passable jack-in-the-box impression, squeaking with excitement. These two have their own in-built ‘cat alert’ 🙀 warning system ⏰ and make one helluva racket when they witness said felines patrolling along the back wall of their garden.

When not snoozing 💤 , these two adore a spot of rough-and-tumble, racing round and round until they crash out exhausted. Parker fondly plants a few licky kisses 😘 on Cooper. Cooper tolerates this behaviour for a few seconds before politely backing off.

Their favourite treat is their play stick covered in a slick of organic, unsalted peanut butter. This is the way to sneak out of the house without them noticing as much. They both seemed to enjoy chillaxing on the sofas with a spot of relaxing dog music courtesy of YouTube.
