On Wednesday, October 8, the Mums In Need team proudly laced up their boots and joined forces with the Rotherham United Community Trust (RUCT) for an incredible fundraising event, the 100 Miles for 100 Years walk.
This inspiring challenge, held during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, celebrated Rotherham United’s centenary while raising awareness of post-separation abuse and the ongoing need for domestic abuse support in our communities.
Our team was honoured to take on the first leg of the journey, a tough 25-mile trek from the AESSEAL New York Stadium to Mansfield in a single day. It was a challenging 10-hour walk, powered by teamwork, determination, and a shared commitment to supporting women rebuilding their lives after abuse.
This event also marks the beginning of an exciting new partnership between Mums In Need and Rotherham United Community Trust. Together, we aim to continue raising awareness and vital funds to help women across South Yorkshire and beyond recover from the lasting effects of post-separation abuse.
At Mums In Need, we believe that leaving an abusive relationship should be the start of safety, not continued fear. By working alongside community partners like RUCT, we can make a lasting difference for mothers and families who need us most.
💜 Together, we can create change.
