As part of the International Women’s Day 2025 celebrations, our CEO, Laura Riley, was honoured to attend a fantastic event hosted by our valued corporate partner, Soroptimist International Sheffield. The event marked the official launch of their new booklet, Fresh Thoughts, a comprehensive resource designed to support women experiencing domestic abuse and coercive control.
The Fresh Thoughts booklet offers practical guidance on a wide range of crucial topics, including staying safe online, navigating the legal and court systems, accessing benefits and housing support, and connecting with key domestic abuse support agencies across Sheffield and the wider South Yorkshire region.
The launch event brought together numerous domestic abuse charities and agencies from across Sheffield, creating an important platform to celebrate collaboration and community impact. We were also pleased to welcome distinguished guests, including South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard and Sheffield Central MP Abtisam Mohamed, both of whom expressed strong support for the booklet and emphasised the urgent need to protect and empower women affected by abuse in our communities.
A big thanks to Soroptimist International Sheffield for their ongoing partnership and the remarkable work they do to support women and families. Resources like Fresh Thoughts serve as a vital lifeline for women seeking help and information, and we are proud to be part of a committed network dedicated to making a real difference in the fight against domestic violence and post-separation abuse.
