As part of the celebrations for International Women's Day, our CEO, Laura Riley, was invited to another fantastic event hosted by our wonderful corporate partner, Soroptimist International Sheffield. The event marked the launch of their new booklet, Fresh Thoughts, designed to provide valuable information and resources for women facing domestic abuse.
The booklet covers a wide range of practical support, including staying safe online, navigating the court system, accessing benefits and housing, as well as providing contact details for support agencies in Sheffield.
The event brought together domestic abuse agencies from across Sheffield to celebrate the launch. We were also pleased to see South Yorkshire Mayor, Oliver Coppard, and Sheffield Central MP, Abtisam Mohamed in attendance, both of whom spoke about their support for the booklet and the importance of protecting women in our community.
We’d like to say a big thanks to Soroptimist International Sheffield for their continued partnership and the incredible work they do in the community. Resources like Fresh Thoughts are a vital lifeline for women seeking support, and we’re proud to be part of a network striving to make a difference.
