Mums In Need joins Buzz at their new Bank Street Location in Sheffield.
Buzz is a separated families support service. It is the is the only Child Contact Centre in Sheffield to be accredited with the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC). It is a not for profit organisation, so all income generated from payments goes directly into developing and running services.
The event took place on the 19th September and was an opportunity for MIN to visit Buzz's new and additional premises location and to engage in discussions about what Buzz is doing well, what could be improved and what we want to see more of in the future.
We met some of the Buzz team members, trustees and stakeholders and we find out more about Buzz and the variety of services Buzz provide.
At the event we had the opportunity to talk to Buzz team members and trustees to find out more about Buzz and the variety of services they provide. We also talked to social care students and stakeholders about MIN's mission to confront coercive control. We talked to CAFCASS representatives, social workers, and also to Kyoko, an Associate Professor at the School of Law at Hiroshima University, Japan. Kyoko is visiting the UK to explore NACCC accredited organisations in order to understand UK operations and engage in knowledge exchange. It was a great platform to talk about systemic failures within the family court system and the ways in which perpetrators continue to maintain control over their victims.
We made some positive links and MIN and Buzz will work together to improve the responses to coercive control in order to protect families from harm and hold perpetrators to account.
