Mums In Need was delighted to be represented at the launch of the Empowering Women Through Divorce campaign at The Cooper Gallery in Barnsley on 3 June 2026.
Our Ambassador, Miranda, and one of our valued casual volunteers, Hannah, attended the event, which was hosted by Jayne Taylor Coaching & Therapy and Andrassy Parkin Financial Planning. The afternoon brought together professionals, advocates, and members of the community who share a commitment to supporting women through separation, divorce, and major life transitions.
The campaign is centred on a powerful message: empowerment through knowledge. By providing women with access to information, guidance, and support, the initiative aims to help them make informed decisions and feel more confident about their future.
For many of the mothers supported by Mums In Need, separation and divorce can be particularly challenging when post-separation abuse is involved. Access to trusted information, financial guidance, and emotional support can make a significant difference during this difficult time.
The event focused on three key principles:
Clarity about rights and available options
Confidence to ask questions and seek advice early
Choice and the ability to shape a positive future
Attendees heard about the importance of sharing knowledge and supporting women not only when they are directly experiencing divorce, but also when they are helping friends, family members, or colleagues navigate the process.
At Mums In Need, we understand that the impact of abuse does not always end when a relationship ends. Many mothers continue to face post-separation abuse long after leaving an abusive partner, making access to support networks and practical information essential.
Events such as the Empowering Women Through Divorce campaign launch help raise awareness of the challenges women face and encourage collaboration between organisations, professionals, and communities. By working together, we can help ensure that women have the information, confidence, and support they need to move forward safely and successfully.
We would like to thank Jayne Taylor, Kathryn Mumby, and Kathryn Andrassy for organising such an informative and inspiring event and for their commitment to empowering women through knowledge and support.
