Space to Breathe
Andy Freeman from Space to Breathe runs peaceful, creative and interactive sessions looking at practical ways to build resilience.
This session was just for our Mins and took place on Thursday 17th June.
The NHS defines resilience as the ability to adapt to circumstances and continue to stay healthy. In our busy lives this is such a fantastic thing to learn and grow in. Andy uses art, music, stillness, conversation and some fun activities to help us explore the subject!
Stella Eden - Making Isolation Less Isolating
Virtual Afternoon tea at the Sofa- making isolation less isolating
During lockdown Stella invited women to join her in a virtual afternoon tea from the comfort of your own home. This took place on zoom and was a women only space for women affected by domestic abuse. Joining the Virtual Afternoon tea at the Sofa were different guest speakers (one new each week!) who provided tips, guidance, help and support.
Our founder and CEO, Laura Riley has attended several of these sessions and highly recommends them! "Having done a well-being session for our Mins back in 2017, I was super exited about this new project! With acupuncturist and crystal therapist Michelle as guest speaker, we spoke about the power of pressure points and acupuncture in relieving stress, how these techniques can reduce anxiety and help those who struggle to sleep."
Stella and her sessions are also very popular with our MIN's, with the following feedback being recieved:
"It was lovely seeing smiling faces. It was nice to do something for me”
“Stella is Brilliant. Pure motivation and inspiration to move on.”
“She is very positive and upbeat and encouraging. These sessions helped me loads”
“Stella is lovely! Her enthusiasm and positivity is catching”

MINs Christmas Party 2020
On the 11th December MIN held a virtual Christmas Party for all of our trustees, staff and volunteers. Despite this year being a tough one for everyone, we were determined to end it with a bit of sparkle and cheer.
We also had 2 very special guests at that party who held some amazing talks and events for us, the first of whom was Deb Lenard. Deb works for Tropic Skincare, and provided some amazing packs of natural and cruelty free skincare for our MINs this year.
Kerry Scorah, who is an award winning close up magician, also brought some incredible magic to the party. You can check out her fantastic tricks here: https://www.kerryscorah.co.uk
Overall it was a great night, despite being virtual, and a great way to celebrate a great year of Mums In Need!
