Sheffield Volunteering Campaign
This month, Mum's In Need have been featured in Sheffield Volunteering's 4 weeks of action campaign.
The campaign runs from the 2nd to the 27th of November, and aims to raise awareness of key themes in Sheffield, and encourage students to take action and get involved with the charities which work towards these issues. The 4 themes are Wellbeing & Mental Health, Zero Waste, Homelessness, Love Sheffield.

Darcy and Stephanie, 2 of our Media & Marketing Team Volunteers, are currently studying at the University of Sheffield and therefore featured in the Campaign:
Stephanie Ritson, Media & Marketing Volunteer at Mums In Need (History student at the University of Sheffield):
“I started volunteering with Mums In Need in June this year, whilst studying History at Sheffield. I have loved being a part of the Media & Marketing Team, currently I assist in promoting the services that are on offer. This has allowed me to be involved with creating monthly blog posts on topics such as self-care and creating social media posts to do with upcoming events and workshops that are on offer. I feel like the work Mums In Need does really makes a huge difference to the lives of many women, and it is such an amazing charity to be a part of. The wellbeing services that MIN offers and the partner agencies we work with are amazing, and the work they do helps support positive changes in so many lives.”
Darcy Fowler, Media & Marketing Volunteer at Mums In Need (History student at the University of Sheffield):
“I started volunteering with Mums In Need during lockdown, as I missed being able to volunteer and get more involved in the local Sheffield community. In my first 2 years at university, I got involved in several volunteering projects through the History Society, however volunteering for MIN was an opportunity to take this a step further and make an even bigger difference. I am part of MIN’s Media and Marketing Team, and I am responsible for posts on social media such as advertising volunteering opportunities and celebrating anniversaries. I would highly recommend getting involved with a charity alongside studying at university as it enables you to actively make a positive change in the community, whilst also teaching you valuable and transferable skills.”
