We are recruiting!

Laura set up Mums In Need in 2013 to assist woman who had left a coercive and abusive relationship with their children's' father. Since then, Mums In Need has assisted over 200 women! We are now looking for someone to join our team so we can help even more woman confronting coercive control; we are looking for a Caseworker to join our support team who assist our service users - our Mins.

MIN Caseworker Job Advert

Sheffield

Fixed Term - 6 Months (Potential to become longer term)

Part Time 22.5 hours across 3 days per week

£23,400 pro rata

Mums In Need [MIN] is looking for a Caseworker to join our support team working 22.5 hours per week across 3 days. This is a fixed term role for 6 months with a strong potential to become longer term and is available immediately.

You will be required to provide practical guidance and emotional support to Mums who have been victims of domestic abuse and managed to leave the perpetrator:

  • providing them with skills and confidence to move forward with their lives using a range of services including peer group support, 1:1 support (emotional and practical), referrals to professional sources, holistic therapy sessions;
  • working with them to ensure they are accessing the appropriate services for both their own needs and the needs of their child[ren].

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing your own caseload; assessing both new and existing clients and ensuring they are provided with the appropriate support and any risks are identified and managed
  • Providing 1-1 support
  • Building and maintaining relationships with our current partners and identifying new ones
  • Ensuring all relevant admin is completed, maintained and in line with relevant legislation

We are looking for someone who has experience of working with vulnerable people and safeguarding vulnerable adults. Ideally they will have knowledge around domestic abuse and its impact upon its victims and children.

This role is currently remote due to COVID-19 but the usual office is in Sheffield, S9 and it is anticipated that we will return to using that office post restrictions.
