Getting back to the office

Social Media Training and Networking

By Shreya Agrawal on 29th May 2021.

It’s almost summer and with the opening of lockdown we’ve seen some big changes here at Mums In Need! Firstly, we are very excited to be back in our office after such a long time! We are in partnership with City Taxis who support MIN as their incubation charity and this has allowed us to be so more productive and we can’t wait to get right back into the swing of things.

To begin with, our social media team received some amazing training this month from Brett Riley Thompson. Brett owns Novo Solutions which is a marketing agency based locally in Doncaster. They specialise in videos, graphic design and marketing strategies, and they also own the ITK magazine that published an article for us last month. He talked about the importance of sharing our own stories; knowing exactly what we want to achieve and how to focus on that, and how to make things easier for ourselves by saving time and making things automated. It was incredibly helpful and the advice he gave us is hugely beneficial and we will definitely be using this information to help further develop Mums In Need.

Our CEO Laura has also been involved in lots of networking this month as well. She attended a new networking event with Never Average Marketing who are also owners of Yorkshire Information Point and gave a presentation about our work with Mums In Need. We also have weekly meetings with Island networking and they also generously split the proceeds from this month with Mums In Need and another charity called Snowdrop. It is networking events like these that help build up the profile of Mums In Need and enable us to reach out to those that need our help the most.

Finally we are very excited to announce that we will be holding an in-person summer fair at the Sheffield Showroom on the 17th July! Please come along and support us in any way you can; we will have lots of things for sale so please come check it out!
