A special mention to those volunteers who are leaving
By Shreya Agrawal on 7th September 2021.
Happy September!
For all those starting school again - good luck from everyone here at Mums In Need! We hope this year is more enjoyable for all of you, with more in person activities and lessons and hopefully things will seem more back to normal! Please remember as well if you are shopping online for all those school supplies, uniforms etc, that you can raise free funds for our charity if you shop from any of the ‘Give as you live’ retailers!
In terms of fundraising, one of our brilliant trustees, Graham Booth, managed to raise an incredible £140 as part of his birthday fundraiser! We also have some lovely supporters running the Manchester Half Marathon on the 10th October on behalf of Mums In Need and they have already raised over £550! We are really grateful for donations and support like this as it helps raise awareness for us as well as providing us with much needed resources. We also have been lucky enough to be sponsored by City taxis for our 100 club! We are so grateful to them for choosing us to be their charity of the year and providing us with their charity incubator. Sadly we have lots of people leaving this month who we would just like to mention. Our lovely caseworker Cristina Tanner who has been with us for a year now and has supported many women upto date, and made an incredible positive impact on their lives. We wish her all the best with her new job and we are very thankful for all the work she has done.
Furthermore, our brilliant media volunteers Lucy Moors, Stephanie Ritson and Sarah Rutherford are also leaving. Lucy has been with us since 2019 and has been a vital part of our fundraising and social media team. Stephanie and Sarah have also been with us since 2020, and they are both involved in making our social media posts, whilst raising awareness for our services and events. They have also been so important to the day to day running of MIN, and we are incredibly grateful to all three of our media volunteers. It has been amazing to have their help, all whilst they balance their workload from University! We wish them all good luck for the future!
Finally we have been featured in the community scheme magazine again for the September edition! It is absolutely fantastic that they have been able to continue to support us, and if you would like to have a read please see http://booklets.thecommunityscheme.com/books/ftwo
