October and November
October and November at Mums In Need brought with them more fantastic fundraising opportunities, the continued valuable support of so many businesses and organisations and a whole lot of #MINLove!
One of the things we are most grateful for at MIN are the countless ways people continue to support us by raising money. From having your own MIN tin like Barrowboy’s Pub, to holding your own quiz night and donating the proceeds like Nether Edge Bowling Club who raised a brilliant £55! Or the wonderful Together Equal campaign who have produced Conversation Cards for kids, donating half of the proceeds to Mums In Need. We would like to say a great big thank you!
MIN also had the amazing opportunity of being visited by The Lord Mayor of Sheffield- Magic Magid. This was a great chance to talk about the people that we help through the work that we do, and we are so thankful that he took the time out of his busy schedule to come and find out more about us. It was a pleasure to meet you!
Thanks to our committed social media team, this month MIN joined the ever expanding world of social media and launched our very own Instagram page! You can find us at Mums_In_Need, and we hope to see your support (likes) in the near future!
We are also extremely pleased to announce that Mums In Need are now disability confident committed. We are very proud to be an inclusive and accessible workplace!
MIN had some great opportunities over the past few months to attend many great events in order to receive advice to help MIN grow and improve as a charity, along with fantastic opportunities to talk to important people about our work. We had a great time at the RnRSheff event at Virgin Money, Sheffield, and the chance to talk to Emma Ward from South Yorkshire Housing Association when she came in to MIN to discuss how we can build stronger leadership opportunities for women. Our incredible CEO Laura also attended the SCR female entrepreneurs events at Kenwood Hall, went to the Circle Sheffield to learn all about social investment for communities, and the charity hub hosted by FCS Associations Ltd where she saw lots of informative presentations and opportunities to network with friends both old and new- it was all systems ahead!
We would also like to say a massive thank you to two amazing friends of Mums In Need- Byron House and the Cross Scythes. Byron House put on a festive advent calendar raffle and raised for us a brilliant £201.10, and as a result of their Christmas fair, the Cross Scythes raised a sensational £550!
Mums In Need are forever grateful for the continued support of all of our friends, of whom without, a lot of what we do simply wouldn’t be possible. A million thankyous will never be enough to express our gratitude, but we hope that it’s a good start!
