June and July at MIN
Through heat and hail, MIN powers through another two months of exciting meetings, opportunities and fundraising.
At the start of June, one of our trustees Suzanne along with social media and fundraising volunteer Ellie went down to The Circle to their volunteering fair. They met some fantastic people who were eager to learn about MIN and everything that we do. We can’t wait to welcome in more volunteers to our family; if you or anyone you know might be interested in joining our team, please get in touch!
We’d also like to thank the businesses who have welcomed one of our own MIN tins into their happy homes. Abbeydale Picture House, Brewer Hop, Luxe and Go Local are helping us so much in their own small way- every penny that we get helps us to help someone who is suffering, and we cannot thank them enough for their continued support. MIN tins are such an easy way to give a helping hand, so if you are interested, let us know.
We had a brilliant night at Halifax Hall Hotel for our Pizza and Prosecco Night which raised a fantastic £446. The pizza was delicious, the prosecco delightful, and the acoustic tunes phenomenal. Nights like these are a great chance for us to not only raise money, but to raise awareness for our charity and the work that we do.
We launched our ‘See a Penny Pick it up’ penny appeal in July, where we are encouraging our supporters to have their own penny pot to chuck in their loose change to donate to MIN. Lots of people would like to do their bit to help charity but can’t always find the time, and so our penny appeal is a super simple way for you to help us. To find out more, look under the ‘Penny Pick up Point’ tab on our website.
On July 9th, at The White Lion the Break a Leg band and many others joined to perform all in aid of Mums In Need. The music was fantastic, the atmosphere electric, and we managed to raise a great £332.40. We’d like to say a massive thank you to The White Lion, Break a Leg, and everyone that came to support us!
MINs love and support spreads far and wide, as shown by Rotherham Job Centre and their dress down day to raise money for MIN. Such a little change can make such a big difference, and a dress down day is a fantastic way of doing your bit to support us that is so easy to organise. They raised for us a superb £54.94, which we are extremely grateful for.
And last but not least, in July we also saw Beauchief Golf Club’s fundraising day where they raised an amazing £674 for us! The support of local businesses within our community is extremely important to us, and we cannot thank them enough for nominating us as their chosen charity.
Along with brilliant fundraising events, we also had some very constructive meetings with Kiran Antcliffe CEO of CADS and Dan Lever from Sheffield Chamber of Commerce. We are very much looking forward to working with them and building on MIN’s future!
Having the support of our community is essential to us here at MIN, and whether that’s a fundraising event, taking on a MIN tin, or simply having a conversation with one of our staff, every opportunity gets us a step closer towards being the charity that we want to be.
